The Oilers are a team with arguably the best young core in the NHL. The challenge with Tampa Bay Lightning may be to achieve long-term sustained success since Stamkos, Hedman, McDonagh, and Hedman are all in their 30s. The best part is that all of these skaters are on long-term contracts, so your core will be set for a while. They also have Steven Stamkos (90 OVR) and Brayden Point (89 OVR), along with some great role players. Talent-wise, you’ll be looking at a stacked lineup with Nikita Kucherov and Victor Hedman, both of which are top 10 skaters in the game with 92 OVRs. The reigning back-to-back champs will be running it back this year and going for a three-peat – maybe you can be the GM to make this happen. If you want instant success, look no further than Tampa Bay Lightning. Their offense still needs some firepower, so expect to be making some moves here early on. The best young talent you’ll find in Seattle are the second draft prick Matty Beniers and the defender Vince Dunn, who joined the Kraken after three relatively successful seasons with the St. They have one of the best-rated goalies in the game in Philipp Grubauer (87 OVR) but, other than him, you’ll have to build everything pretty much from the ground up. In terms of top-tier talent, the Kraken don’t have much to offer. Here I'd have to be OK with Eastern teams and Western team never playing each other, which i'm not really OK with plus also completely lose any affiliation with an AHL team for the season (which i could live with, especially since I think this happens when you use a custom team).
3rd option I was contemplating, is use two other leagues and use one for the Eastern Conference and one the western conference. and you are swapping custom teams for NHL teams. I think that really just works the same way as utilizing the all-star games in the end. Other options I thought about was changing the Centennial Canadiens & HC Davos since they are hard-coded custom teams. I have done that before with my own roster & I've successfully used the 2017 Amnesiac roster. Kings1171 thanks for the tip about substituting Vagas for the All star teams. It would be interesting to see what happens when you revise the schedule down 28 teams. Which leads me to believe not only are the number of teams per league in season/dynasty hard-coded, also the team slots specifically.
When I tested the KHL league all of the expected teams appeared. And the team I changed to NHL did not appear in the default teams nor as a team I could substitute. Then created a season for NHL teams and a season for the KHL.įor the NHL season, the team I changed to custom was able to be substituted for any of the regular NHL teams. I did do a some small experimenting I took took two teams from the KHL and changed one to Custom & one to NHL just to see what would happen. I wish one day EA would just open source some of the old games so they can really be modded without all of the work arounds. Thanks all, no matter what there is always a caveat. I was thinking about something different: So yes, we can make the team and I will make the seasons for all as I do every year. I am planning to make 3 seasons for 2021-2022 NHL season when they officially start their Inaugural Season ( then one team will be remove for the other 2 or play normally without VGK or Seattle because these 2 teams ruined our game period). We will have VGK and Seattle in the game though as (CUSTOMS). I am currently working on making WEST-ALL STARS as Seattle but, again they will not record ever. I made 2 seasons for the NHL for this year and the last year, and the year before, they are in FILEBASE. I had Amnesiac added to his roster so you could play VGK as the 31st but they would not record in the standings for the season due to EA Sports hard-coding of 30. What I did is I made the EAST ALL-STARS as Vegas Golden Knights back in 2017. But VGK and Seattle will not be registered in the standings at all and neither for the team playing them.
